Its from some rampant javascript, I'm not sure which one is doing it so it may take me a few here

I was getting it on my home computer but not work. Home has windows XP while work has windows 98

I don't have any problem on the forum area of O/R, but I got this Firefox pop-up box whenever I clicked on "read more" on an article on the O/R front page:

Warning: Unresponsive script

? "a script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Buttons: "stop script" and "continue".

I was never getting the error so its really hard to fix by myself, I've updated all the javascript that was out there and even removed some that didnt seem to do anything?

But if you're still getting the same error message (or even a new one ) Just let me know and i'll get back into it I'll be here for the next few hours cleaning some stuff up and playing in the arcade!

I am having lots of troubles with the site tonight. Very slow loading, freezing up...and half the page cut off on lots of threads, but dont scroll bar to move it over. UGH..

O-R "script error" locks up my web browser and freezes the shut-down process due to errors on web browser. Have you ID this? Acts like a worm or virus....

Not yet, its hard to ID cause im not getting it, but alot of others are.

Bear with me though, im still working on it as I get time and hope to have it fixed bfore the weekend.

I'd like to say I fixed it, but we all know what will happen then.

So i'm going with it "maybe" fixed. (pressing CTRL+F5 to get new javascript code may help, only on the home page, doing it else where will have no effect.)

I got it again when I first logged on today (1500 or so). I read your latest entry and did the cntr+ F5 thing and it has worked so far.

Theres one satisfied customer, hopefully the others who were encountering the problem can chime in with a fixed as well just to make sure.

It isn't limited to OfficerResource.

I started getting that error on the Bank of America billpay site a couple of weeks ago after I installed a new version of Norton Internet Security & Antivirus - but go figure, I haven't ever gotten the error on O/R.

I bet it's either something like Norton doing it, or else Microsoft issued a flawed update to IE, perhaps with more security features that slows everything down. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened - Wait a minute, that's never NOT happened

Works OK now. Four hours ago it was sticking on every page and sticking Int.Exp so I could not shut down. Now it appears problem is gone.Thanks Dave

I had stopped encountering the problem when I switched browsers to Foxfire. I am back trying it in IE and so far so good, seems to be working fine on my end. Thanks.
