Terrorism Section
I know I mentioned once before that I liked how this place has so few sections, since that gets a little crazy when you have a section for every topic under the sun, but I think something like Terrorism should have its own place here since it's an officer safety issue and of national importance. I'd be happy to fill it with news, information and updates if you guys wouldn't mind placing it here. Lemme know what you think - if it's out of the scope of this site, that's fine, I'll just have to start my own forum and be a LEF affiliate

I like I like.
Being the best is not what always counts. What counts is always trying your best.
Remember who you are, and where you came from. That way you never get a big head.
May those that lost their lives in 9-11 RIP, for the things you did not many could do. You left so many behind so that you could save so few. For now we stand strong as one, and will not look back till the fight is done. (me)

FYI, I'm working on a Terrorism forum, so it can just be a LEF affiliate if it's worthy
We'll see how it turns out. When it's live, I'll post a link.

The section could have a more global scope as well to cover terrorist activity in, for example, South America and Southeast Asia. I think there's plenty of room for topics that wouldn't in any way get into protected homeland security information.

It's not a tactics discussion at all, mainly a discussion of terrorist groups and news. I wouldn't allow anyone to provide anything that would appear to be beneficial to terrorists. If nothing else, you can at least hang out and read what the people with no inside info have to say

Sure glad I am not in your shoes for this particular subject. You are front line folks. In my work now I have to deal with OFAC, a lot. If my investigation points toward someone on this list, I get no cooperation at all from INS, Social Security, FBI, etc. The proverbial stonewall is there. I am always told there is nothing anyone can do. Yet, the laws in place now demand the information developed be shared by me. I know information is not a two way street for this subject between government, and the industry where I work, but for God's sake take what information I have, and do something with it. Just venting guys.

I'd vote thumbs down on creating a Terrorism Section in the public areas on LEF. It's unnecessary. We already have a section in the Verified Area for intel briefings that aren't public knowledge. That's where they need to stay.
If you feel the need to read about terrorism, or find out what's happening in the world, try this.... it's one of our government's best intelligence sources:

No classified or sensitive material will be posted, and it's not going to be on LEF. Check my sig for the link.
And you could have at least linked to Fox News

That was in response to Curt. No one is forced to participate, I understand that some feds have security concerns. Still, can't hurt to read it. Might find something in there that even you don't know
