I just got on to congratulate making the APB Magazine. Although I have been a subscription holder in the mag for over 10 years I just became disillusioned of there reputation.
It seems that an article on the May 2006 Issue on page #21 and titled 'This is Beyond Wrong'. I read it and became inflamed at our institution again and how these ignorant courts could simply put an officer behind bars for 10 years for the simple bite of her K9 Dog. This was an illegal alien on the Commercial Roof of a business with an accomplice and she had the dog bite the suspect one time on the leg. It was then investigated and the suspect released (and he is an convicted felon from El Salvador) will end up with quite a purse and probably citizen papers. I was infuriated and after being a 35 yr honorably retired officer was VERY ASHAMED of this Govt. I notified many and was going to write this up here for all to be VERY CAREFUL ......... BUT !!!!
In talking with some other retired Fed Officers, they have more knowledge of the computers than I do. They were infuriated BUT decided to google her name and finally determined that ONLY HALF the truth was put forward in the APB. She had appealed her case from Fed Pen and was thrown out of all appeals courts BUT it relayed transcripts of the full case and how other officers testified on her and her prior records and complaints were found and all used on her.
I find this QUITE disturbing and that the APB should check there stories further and give a full accounting of a story and NOT use the media for angled reporting for either side. I am really tired of the media playing games with emotions and reputations EVEN IF they cited it favorably.
I just thought you should all know. Thanks and Take Care and Be safe ALL !!

Thanks for the info, I read that article too and was thinking how could this happen, But now that you have brought us the whole story I can see why.
Thanks againJust because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!

Keep in mind the article was a letter to the editor and not actually a story by APB.
