06-09-06, 08:31 PM #43That would be fine with me.... If it were used like it should be, I wouldn't mind it. It's nice to know if people like your posts, etc., but when folks actually seem to draw their self esteem from it, shit, dump it.

Can you exchange rep for peanut M&M's? That's a hell of an idea!

Kinda hilarious, I got a msg from another member who told me that some people here in chat (where I never go) were saying that I was one of the abusers of the rep system. Frankly, I had no idea that mine was so high until Sheriff mentioned that I was maxed out! I have looked to see who has repped me to see how my posts are being taken, but I haven't looked to see where I ranked overall until that was mentioned.
If I could give one of the whiners my rep, I would be more than happy to do it. Otherwise, I'd as soon dump the whole system. The fact there is a thread about it says a lot.....

I like the rep system but maybe it would be better if it was just a standard +1 everytime you got repped instead of the way it works now.
As for abuse, you have to spread it around so it seems like a pain in the ass just to rep your buddies.
-
06-10-06, 09:25 AM #52That's one of the problems, repping your buddies rather than just repping posts that are good.

06-10-06, 10:21 AM #53Ok, let's do some investigative work here RDS, and narrow down the list of suspects... It accomplishes nothing to cast suspicions on everyone who are looking forward to cashing in their reps for retirement money or Peanut M&M's

Honestly, if y'all don't care about them, then turn off your automatic PM Rep notifications and ignore them. - I don't even bother counting digits in everyone's rep scores unless they're red, but I do appreciate it when someone reps me, and I find one of their posts I like & rep them back. If that's abuse, then OK I'm a serial abuser
But to your point, a +1 or -1 sounds fair, as long as the sender isn't in the red... One person, one vote... Truly, you can even make the score private like the warn meter, or make it red or green (+ or -) I don't care.Last edited by TXCharlie; 06-10-06 at 12:36 PM.

Hey maybe we can trade in rep points like skee ball tickets. LT can set up a counter and with a certain number of rep points we can get a shot glass, ash tray, stuffed animal, or whoopee cushion!!

Can't we use the rep points like Chuckie Cheese tickets, that's so much more fun? We need skeet ball too.

We are going to remedy this situation. How at this point, I don't know. But, changes will be made.
