A problem with the Rep system

First, I like the rep system, I think it serves a good purpose however I have a major issue with it.

It keeps telling me too spread it around, now I understand the purpose of this, to stop rep whoring but for the likes of myself that dont rep all the time or every second comment, its a pain in the ass.

THe fact is I a like posts from the same dozen people and want to rep when I see a good one, why do I have to rep someone else for no reason just so I can rep a user I actually wanted to?

May I suggest a rep limit instead? Like 1 rep to the same user per week maybe?

I've just stopped rep'ing to be honest. :noidea: That would be nice if it could just recycle after 5 days or something and let you rep the same person again even if you'd only rep'd one other person during those 5 days.

Yeah, I rep occasionally, but I really see the entire system as just a way to tell someone I liked what they had to say or it made me laugh. It's just as easy to PM them and say "LOLz YoUR COMMENT roxored my S0x OFF!!!111Oneone!!!!!!!!11111" :D

Yeah mine has been pretty steady as well, as far as I can tell. But then maybe I don't r0xor many people's Soxor's off :D

I've been kinda bad about giving rep, but I've been getting the same messages.

I thought it was related to giving rep to a mod - to prevent too much brown nosing. :D

The last rep I got was Autumn thanking me for hitting on her :D

No on 2nd glance it says "I think you just hit on me and I think I'm scared now." :D

I had lots of rep and then someone didnt like one of my postings and they gave me enough neg rep I was back down to like 12 and have slowly came back up.

Well I don't have any rep to give, and not enogh posts to receive any. So I'm just rep less any way I look at it.....lol

Now that some of the rep issues we had have quelled, I'm willing to alter them slightly to appease the members.

You must now only give 10 different users reputation before you can hit the same person again. It was 25.

You can now also give 5 different users reputation in a 24 hour period. It was 3.

I hate to say it, but I agree with Virgin on this one. I normally just let the person know directly through a post or a PM. The rep thing really got wore out for a bit and I am not real fond of it still.
