I think it would be nice to have a place on the site to drop names of LE related organizations, websites, businesses etc. I have a few in mind that I would recommend to the other members from my area, but I don’t want to sound like I am advertising or spamming on the site. For example, I have a friend who is a canine trainer for LE; I would highly recommend his company over any other company in this area for a number of reasons. I am a member of an organization for tactical operators, which offers great training opportunities and networking within the field.

It would be nice to have a place on the site where members can drop a reference, tell a little about why we should check it out, how we can benefit, etc. and maybe a link or phone #.

I am sure if left un-policed in the public section, it could turn into a spam haven, which would be bad. I think that if it were in the verified section, it could have some good contacts for LEO’s to share experiences, find reliable sources for training, equipment, etc.

Just a thought. What do you think? If you think it is a bad idea, my feelings won't be hurt.

Why not,in the "Locker Room" we have verified LEO contacts.

I thought of that, but I thought it would be better to have a specific area, so that those looking for something could find it easier. For instance, if you wanted to get suggestions on joining an organization you could search the area for your topic, or post a request for information and others could respond. It would also be easier to thumb through while specifically looking for resources related to services, organizations, and websites for LEOs.

If members were to drop names of companies/organizations in the Locker Room, in my opinion anyway, the locker room would become cluttered, and people who are not looking for these references would get sick of them.
