Really?
I kind of have a hard time believing this...but it is coming from Fox News!
YouTube - Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent
edit: and another thing. If this is actually true, isn't this type of stuff something the electorate deserves to know BEFORE the election? Don't hide behind "off the record." If it's news, it's news.[/URL]

I wonder what the motivations of the McCain staffers who told the reporter this info were. Why tell a reporter something before the election on the condition that the info only be released after the election? If they wanted the info out only after the election, why not wait till after the election to tell the reporter?
If McCain-Palin had won, would this info have still been released after the election?

Don't believe it, there's a group trying to put the blame somewhere besides themselves for loosing or they have someone else in mind they want to support.

In the spirit of bi-partisanship and 'sharing the wealth', I am going to rep both of the liberals posting in this thread, Bob Loblaw, and Jenna.
I believe that it is important that they posted to such a worthy, timely, and critical news item as the post-campaign rhetoric between the McCain campaign staff and Mrs. Palin. After all, it is certainly more interesting than having them continue the "Obama-the-superhuman-superior-Harvard-educated-Demigod-gift-from-the-almighty-decended-from-heaven-as-salvation-for-the-world" posts.
I believe that both will need all of the rep points that they can use to bolster their self-worth when they begin paying the exhorbidant tax bills that their "messiah" will endow them with.
I urge everyone to join me in repping these two, so that they realize that although reputation points are desirable and attractive, the award of such essentially are mere sentiments and when bestowed through hype and insincerity, they really hold little positive intrinsic long-term value. As such, they are much akin to an Obama presidency.

This isn't about Obama. This is about your people criticizing your VP candidate on your network. If everytime any news organization says anything bad about a republican, they're immediately labeled as part of the "elite left-wing liberally biased media", what do you do when Palin's getting slammed on Fox News? Can't you believe there is some shade of truth here? Or are you Republicans going to bury your heads in the sand about how she was a TERRIBLE pick on your ticket in the first place and, by some estimation, probably cost McCain the White House?
Just for the record, I consider myself middle-of-the-road, not a liberal. For every democrat I've voted for, I've voted for about 5 republicans. This isn't about me and who I voted for. It's about how Sarah Palin was the worst VP pick ever and how even the right-wing can't cover up her ineptness.

If it was on Fox News, it has to be true!

Perhaps in your estimation and from your viewpoint, this is true. However, the voting demographics don't bear you out. McCain was the most moderate candidate in the entire field of republican candidates. He actually had to convince right-wingers that he was one of them, (a small government, tax-cutting, pro-lifer), when his own Senate voting record did not support that assumption. (See: McCain/Feingold, Votes against Bush tax cuts X2, Co-sponsorship of Cap and Trade, Amnesty bill for illegal aliens... etc.)
Palin actually helped bring a slight relief to McCain's right wing dilemma, but her being a veritable unknown simply wasn't enough to push McCain over the top. As I've said before, the lack of a clear, concise, and palpable conservative platform crippled the republicans, not the choice of running mate.
Fox news reported that an "anonymous" McCain staffer said these things... no identity, no corroboration, not even a hint. How much creedence should we lend to that? After all, at least the guy who posted the YouTube video about giving Obama a backseat blowjob had enough nerve to appear on camera and name himself... perhaps we should find out whatever happened to him?
But, that said, shouldn't you be polishing your peacepipes instead of still crying out for blood anyway? I mean, your 'messiah' won. Lighten up Bobby! Salvation is at hand!! After all, look at how excited the stock market is to see him! Those guys are running like mad to T-bills and Muni's in celebration!!
If you, sir, are the middle of the road, then I am a radical leftist-socialist with Che' posters on my wall and a Black Panther beret.Just for the record, I consider myself middle-of-the-road, not a liberal. For every democrat I've voted for, I've voted for about 5 republicans.
Certainly it isn't, Bob. I, for one, believe you. Otherwise, you'd be more gracious and less spastic about your hatred for conservatives. This isn't about me and who I voted for. It's about how Sarah Palin was the worst VP pick ever and how even the right-wing can't cover up her ineptness.
Conservatism reaches beyond party, Bobby. Conservatism is a philosophy all unto itself. When conservatism defined the Republican Party (a-la Reaganism), they won. What killed the Republicans in 2008 was a lack of conservatism and a lack of definition. Even Obama had to steal 'tax cuts' as a means to define his economic policy. In fact, once the story is told, I'd be willing to bet that his (rather hollow, as I'll wager you'll see) promise of cutting taxes won the election far more than his 'glowing personality'.

Fox News corporate leaders actually have admitted that they aim for slightly left of center in their reporting. The rest of the main stream media is so leftist and in the bag for Democrats by comparison that Fox looks like the 5th Reich Media Service.
That being said you can't blame the news for reporting the news. I'm not worried about what Fox is reporting. So what? The source however is easily questioned. A bunch of whining losers not willing to admit defeat. They want to pass the buck.
McCain's campaign was run very poorly compared to Obama. And McCain has the personality of a rock compared to Obama's charisma. They were always behind the 8 Ball and McCain refused to come out of the corner swinging. Blaming it all on Palin is a joke because he wouldn't have had 30% without her drawing conservatives back into the party. Every conservative I know, including me and my wife, had ZERO intention of ever voting for McCain until she was on the ticket. She was so heavily reviled by the Lunatic Left because she was the breath of fresh air in the ailing McCain campaign and she was the only way McCain ever had a shot of getting even close to Obama.
And Loblaw a centrist? If he is so am I.

That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

The base wasn't McCain's main problem. Democrats end up voting democrat and republicans end up voting republican with almost predictable certainty. It was the undecideds...the "Swing Vote", if you will. That's why Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida all went Obama. And it was Palin who helped to swing those votes to the left.
and I don't hate conservatives, CB. I love you guys! I've said it before and I'll say it again: the differences between me and a guy like you (who is a poliitically conservative voter) and a guy like my brother (who is as left as left gets without comitting treason) is very simple. We just have differences in political opinion. That is all. I think it should be run one way, you think another and my brother thinks another. I don't think political conservatives are dumb or are inherently evil, and I certainly don't hate them.
