Is Obama reaching across the aisle as he promosed in selecting his cabinet?
Is Obama reaching across the aisle as he promosed in selecting his staff? Here is a list of who Obama has selected for his cabinet so far:
President-elect Obama chose Representative Rahm Emanuel (D) of Illinois as his Chief of Staff.
Jim Messina (D), a career foreign service officer who worked for President Clinton's National Security Council, and Mona Sutphen (D), will serve as Deputy Chiefs of Staff, while Pete Rouse (D) will serve as senior advisor.
Former strategist David Axelrod (D) accepted the position of Senior Advisor in the White House.
Valerie Jarrett (D) accepted a position as "Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Relations and Public Liaison."
Robert Gibbs (D) is expected to be named Press Secretary.
New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) is top on his list to be named Secretary of State.
Other democratic politicans, such as Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, and former Democratic Presidential nominee and Massachusetts Senator John Kerry are being considered for positions in his cabinet as well.
Is this change we can believe in? Where's the reaching across the aisle?

If he reaches across the aisle, it will be for a liberal Republican he can pick out of the Senate.

I only see one cabinet position on that list. The rest are all staff positions.
The Cabinet includes the Vice President and the heads of 15 executive departments-the Secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs, and the Attorney General. Under President George W. Bush, Cabinet-level rank also has been accorded to the Administrator, Environmental Protection Agency; Director, Office of Management and Budget; the Director, National Drug Control Policy; and the U.S. Trade Representative.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

I doubt he'll even give the benefit of a reach-around, let alone a reach across the aisle...

I'm with Maclean on this one. Any Republican he picks will be a RINO like McCain.

Gotta agree with McClain on this one also.
Saw him and the missus on 60 minutes last night, wasn't impressed at all, matter of fact I changed the channel finally. He seemed more upset that he can't go for a walk anymore. But don't worry, now he'll be home more often to tuck the kiddies into bed and they'll be able to run to the Oval Office every afternoon when they come home from school.
My dad, I miss him every day.

Now that his influence comes from THE TOP of his party, it would be difficult, if not impossible to violate the secret handshake responsibility of his party.
I'm not ruining your life, you are, and I'm just going to write a short story about it.
