What political party do you identify with? Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, or other? Why?
I'm a libertarian conservative, but in order to achieve political harmony in the system I vote Republican most often.
Basically, that means I am libertarian, but with a little l - not the whacked out crazy motherfuckers with the big L - and that I am conservative.
Party loyalty is second to doctrine or theory to me.
Edited to add: I'm a Ronaldus Magnus Republican, not a McCain the RINO Republican. I believe government is usually the problem, not the solution.
I am just beginning my political education. Grossly irresponsible of me but it is what it is. I have chosen Independant. With all the political hoopla it is hard to say which of the main parties are telling the complete truth and have the morals and principals that I agree with. I like to have a stand where I can make up my mind without feeling obligated to vote because of a "party". If I want to have a party I'll grab a beer and watch a rerun of COPS.
I am affiliated with the candidate most closely representing my beliefs. In the trend throughout and for a time following the Reagan years, I have voted Republican, and remained registered as such.
Above all party affiliation, I am a conservative. For a detailed list of what that means to me:

I am a conservative. That used to mean the Republican party but I don't know anymore. I believe in lesser gov't, lower taxes, less regulations, etc. Seems to me now that both major parties are increasing the size of gov't, one is just doing it slower then the other.
i voted republican and i usually do so i will call myself a republican; what i am is a conservative; i will vote for the other party if that person better represents my thoughts and beliefs
I wish we could have another Reagan.
Like Mac said, I look at the candidate and I vote my principles. Most often it's Libertarian or Republican.
Registered Independent who votes for the candidate with which I agree with most. That hasn't included many Democrats this decade.
Registered Constitution Party member who recently left the Republican Party. Very conservative beliefs and value system. Voted for Chuck Baldwin for President, but had to vote for Norm Coleman (R-MN) for Senate here because there's no way on God's green earth that I want Al Franken to be my senator.
Republican but not a McCain Republican - I held my nose when I voted for him.
I STILL wish Newt Gingrich had won the primaries. I think he's more of a Reagan Republican than Reagan himself ever was.
