Your prediction/opinion - Mumbai India
The word this morning out of Mumbai India is that an obscure muslim group is claiming responsibility for the coordinated terrorist attacks there. CNN is also reporting that the terrorist targeted American and British Citizens in these hotel attacks.
If that is the case, how do you think this will play out with Bush? What impact, if any, will Obama have on the incident? How should the incident be handled, in your opinion?*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."

I think that if their specifically targeting American citizens, which they have, we should probably go over their and kick their ass eh?
That's just my opinion.
Hopefully Bush get's something put in motion, and Obama keeps that ball rolling. Who knows, maybe he'll be too busy installing solar panels on the white house. No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

Maybe the terrorists will be so moved by Obama's environmental consciousness that they will decide they no longer want to be terrorists after all!

Or maybe Bush will just nuke India while he still has access to the pretty red button. That will be a great way to cement his legacy. Annihilating the entire population of one of the largest countries on earth would help reduce pollution, as well as open up more jobs for Americans by destroying one of the main destinations of outsourced American jobs.

OK, seriously, I don't think there's much we can do about those terrorists in India except encourage India's government to find and prosecute the terrorists, and provide India with whatever assistance they ask for in this effort. India has a democratic government that considers the US an ally, and in addition to that it is quite motivated to reduce terrorism on its own soil against its own people (most killed in the attack were Indians).

Bush will bomb a training camp before his term is over. Obama will say he wants to open a line of communication, and do nothing. Terrorists will plan similar attacks in western countries.

My gut feeling is that we're going to see much more of this as Nobama will be tested...and I feel he will not be respected...but that's just my gut feeling.

My feeling is the only way talking helps if they (ass mongers) know you will use that big ass stick if they don't listen. So I agree we will see additional attacks the closer our new President takes office.

The US will send a team of investigators to determine if indeed US nationals were specifically targeted. If this is true, I believe the emphasis at that time will be to more closely identify the organization and its supporters. Should the investigations credibly identify them prior to 20 January, 2009, I believe that the possibility exists that airstrikes or missle attacks will follow against the specific factions involved and supporting, regardless of their location, if it is determined that doing so is tenable and will not create a war in another theater of operations. If the investigation does not meet that timeline, I believe no definitive military action will be taken by the U.S. in this matter.

I don't think that we will overtly be involved in any acts of retribution. Behind the scenes, we'll be providing intelligence and support to the Indians, and I'm sure we'll have personel in the area that will help facilitate whatever the India govt. decides to do.
