Lent
Today is "Fat Tuesday" Does anyone do anything special for lent?
As a child we always gave something up for the 40 days of lent. I still observe Lent and try to give stuff up as a sacrifice, I also try to do something nice for those 40 days.
We also don't eat meat on fridays during lent.

My girlfriend is a pretty devout Catholic. I always know that when Lent comes around, something comes down the pipe that directly affects me.

This year she's planning on getting up at 0530, day off or not, for reading, prayer, and reflecion. Man that's early. I told her to not turn the lights on when she wakes up.

I salute those who sacrifice during the lenten season. I personally give up midget tossing.

I once lent someone $20.00. Other than that, Lent means nothing to me. Have fun celebrating it, to all those that do.
And 121Traffic, sucks to be you.

Gotta go to the Ash Wednesday Service tomorrow and then we usually give up something for our meals. I and my son are diabetics so we are dispensed from having to do that but my wife is pretty tough about it. I gave up beer last year.

I would like my country back. I used to believe that one man could never destroy this country. Not so sure anymore!

During the Lenten season I wake up earlier than normal at the same time each day (but not 5:30!!) for reflection/meditation and prayer, no matter where I am. I have a LOT to be thankful for. I also put aside any change or a few dollars each day and at the end of Lent I either anonymously donate the cash or use it to buy a wish list item for an agency or individual in true need.

Yesterday was shrove tuesday or as its better known "Pancake Day" so naturally we had pancakes,
It's supposed to be something to do with using up ingredients before lent. Who cares I love pancakes.
I'll not be giving up anything else because I'm just plain selfish.the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.

I'm not catholic but I'm going to try and give up fast food for 40 days. I eat entirely too much taco bell!
