He's a Renegade
Obama opted for the Secret Service Code Name of Renegade.
renegade
1 : a deserter from one faith, cause, or allegiance to another
2 : an individual who rejects lawful or conventional behavior
Well, at least he picked an apt one. And now it explains some of his actions.
The rest of his family's code names will be alliterative: wife Michelle is known as "Renaissance;" daughters Malia and Sasha are "Radiance" and "Rosebud," respectively."When a crime is committed, liberals blame society. Conservatives blame the criminal." -Debra Saunders

I don’t understand how they do it, but they have some method of picking a letter for the first family and then they generate a list on words for the letter. The family member have a code using the same letter.

Obama got R.
Bush got T- he was either Tumbler or Trailblazer
Clinton got E- he was Eagle. (I heard Hilary's was Egomaniac
- not really- just trying to start an internet rumor)
Bush Sr got T –he was Timberwolf.
Reagan got R- he was Rawhide.
Carter was a D- he was Deacon.
Ford was a P- He was Pass Key."When a crime is committed, liberals blame society. Conservatives blame the criminal." -Debra Saunders

I don't understand the point of "code" names if you publish them to the public? Why don't they just use their first names if everyone's gonna know who they're talking about?

Well I guess it's better than some other protectees' code names:
Ted Kennedy: Sunburn
Todd Palin: Driller
Karenna Gore: Smurfette
Richard Nixon's Press Secretary Ron Ziegler and then Assistant: Whale Boat
Pope John Paul II - Halo
Prince Charles of the United Kingdom - Unicorn
Richard Nixon: Searchlight
Gerald Ford's White House Press Secretary Ron Nessen - Clam Chowder
Vice President Dick Cheney's Staff: Pacemaker
Vice President Dick Cheney's office: Cobweb
Really, these were their real code names!

Isn't it a security hazard to have a code name that might cause people to burst into laughter while saying or hearing them?

Ted Kennedy's code name should be Cocktail.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

from now on address me as my code name...el diablo...it's one of them fighting chickens, you know, with the claws
in the warriors code there's no surrender, though his body says stop, his spirit cries...NEVER. deep in our souls, a quiet ember, knows its you against you, its the paradox that drives us all. its a battle of wills, in the heat of attack, its the passion that kills, and victory is yours alone.
the posts and opinions stated by me do not in any way reflect the values, beliefs, or views of my department. they are simply opinions and/or observations which have been developed through my personal experiences. hell, most of the stories probably arent even true...wink wink
