More people are given access to the best medical technology by a profit motive. Just wait and see what happens when we start "lowering the costs of healthcare". Everywhere it has been tried the amount and quality of care has gone down.

He's a jackass who has yet to utter anything semi-intelligent that I've ever heard.

SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

He does have a limited demographic, being that's he's on a pay cable channel, however, he does have a rather large, live studio audience, and he must have some viewers every month to stay on HBO. It may be unfortunate, but the guy has followers. Loons who side with him. Maher is WAY out there.
He was commenting on the Gates case quite a bit on his show last Friday. He basically said it came down to Sgt. Crowley's ego causing this problem and that he should have just apologized to Gates and walked away (on scene). Maher's libertarian tendencies are becoming more rare. These days, he's an EXTREME hollywood liberal.

Mahar was never a libertarian in any sense. He was simply a liberal looking for a base and audience.

So will the Obama health bureaucrats work for free?
Seems like they will be making money off of people's pain, too.
