Irena Sendler
There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the! war, she tried to locate any
parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted
Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected.
Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming. Obama got one for doing nothing.

Romans 13:4
For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

been thinking for quite some time that all these prestigious prizes are nothing more than politics...
they don't mean what they used to mean...
and bless her heart - i'm sure she didn't do one damn thing for some stupid trinket... she did it for the truly noble reason... in my book, this woman is what rates as a true hero-=Twan007

Talk (Gore, Obama) is cheap , actions(Ms.Sendler) are not. She doesn't need a Nobel Peace Prize to validate her humanity, courage and compassion.
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

The Nobel committee has devalued the "prize" to something less than a couple Zimbabwe dollars. When everyone agrees and consensus is reached in secrecy, we discover the wonders of bullshit and communism.Last edited by sgtbear111; 11-05-09 at 08:41 PM. Reason: more info
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.-- Anonymous
Old People, like me, may not be around to witness the destruction of our Nation. The rest of you may not survive the collapse. We all have the sworn duty to prevent it.

The Nobel Peace Prize.

What a flipping joke that thing has become. Wonder what Alfred Nobel would say if he could come back from the grave and see what it's become.

You can wipe your ass with that prize. Just pay the people the money, it's not as insulting that way.
