Hmmm... the Dems didn't see the lawsuits coming, did they? Or maybe they did and just didn't care.

I watched the news tonight for the first time in a while. All it was was stories of how wonderful this bill is and how racist people that oppose it are. What ever happened to the days that people took care of themselves and didn't rely on the gov't to care for their every whim.

Washington State has joined the lawsuit, although the libtard Governor is upset with our awesome AG for doing so.

Colorado just joined as well. Mac, our AG is under fire from our dipshit governor too, along with our Democrat-controlled legislature. I love it. Colorado has long since had a reputation of being pretty left wing...I think that this is showing a lot of the state's "true" colors. Let's face it...outside of Denver and Boulder, CO is rural and down to earth, and most folks away from the city love their guns and small government.

Florida, too, as well as VA. Looks like the number of states suing is in the high 30s.

It's the other way around here. The AG is waiting for it to be signed in and then weight the need for legal action.
The Governor is jumping up and down, wanting the AG to join the bandwagon and sue.

The legislature is trying:
All 68 Republican members of the Minnesota Legislature are asking the state's Democratic attorney general for a lawsuit over the federal health care overhaul.
They are urging Attorney General Lori Swanson to challenge the constitutionality of a requirement that individuals buy health insurance and a population-based tax on states.
"There's 12 other attorney generals across the country that already said they will sue.. are going to sue and I'm going to ask our attorney general to join the effort," said Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

They saw it coming - Why do you think the IRS is going to enforce the insurance mandate?
It's because forcing people to buy something is illegal, but charging them a "tax" if they don't buy it is legal. The fine ("tax") is the "government option" - In that case from what I understand, you pay your $650 or $2500 "tax" and you're covered by the default "safety net".
In other words, if you don't get private insurance, you pay your tax and get the government policy - But guess what happens if you don't pay the tax? The IRS agents find you and charge you with evading taxes, but you're covered by the safety net.
Or that's how it was explained on the radio by a pretty knowledgeable local lawyer - He thought the lawsuit would fail, if that's the only basis, but he wasn't happy about it. He said that the only way it might succeed is if a fly on the wall can testify that the Democrats' expressed a specific motivation of evading the law by treating it as a tax, but no Democrat is ever going to admit to it, and no Republicans were invited to the meetings. He thinks that's why.
I sure hope a staffer comes forward with some careless emails that gets the whole bunch indicted.
