If, by "SHTF" you mean Sh*& Hit The Fan, I do not see much response to this question other than yes, my Department has contingency plans for many critical situations. None of the specifics of these plans will be discussed on an open forum.

Not stirring (churning?) anything, more of a joke. I often read about how people expect the downfall of society to be just like Mad Max and the Thunderdome (on other web sites). The proverbial sh*t hits the fan scenario. They envision roaming the roads with guns strapped to their cars or trucks and taking over the local village. I was curious as to what some officials would think about it. I can usually end the thread by reminding people that with out constant attention things like nuclear power plants, chemical depots and oil processing plants will degrade and then we have a whole other set of issues at hand. Didnt mean to press anyones buttons

I spent quite a bit of time on a couple of gun and shooting forums last year.
The "SHTF Rambo's" on those forums about drove me up a freakin' wall. So much so that I haven't been back to those forums in months.
Last year when the ammo shortage was in full swing (and ammo prices were off the wall), all they could talk about was how many THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of rounds of various calibers they had stockpiled, and the hundreds (literally in some cases) of .223 mags (and others) they scored. Each one trying to "out-stash" the other.
Now let me admit to having enough in my safe to carry me through anything short of an all-out invasion of the Spetnatz (backed up by hordes of zombies
), but those nutcases I guess figure that they're going to save the world. All by themselves.
Ever since I frequented those forums (which shall remain nameless, since they're basically pretty educational - except for the Rambo's), I wanna puke every time somebody starts that SHTF crap.
