Democrat advertisement fail....
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina legislator is apologizing after a campaign flier meant to tout his support for U.S. troops featured a photo of World War II re-enactors dressed as German soldiers.

I'll admit, I can't tell their nazi's by that photo... but then again I'm not about to attach my name and mail it out to the masses either. I'm betting there's a couple designers looking for work about now.

Indeed. The rifle is obviously a German Mauser K98 , the standard issue rifle for the German Army during WWII. The other weapon looks to be a German StG 44 , the world's first "assault rifle" to me. Looks nothing like any WWII Allied weapon.
