The Prez looks a bit tired. Mitt is getting a bit testy with the accusations.
Why can't the wives debate each other?
that didn't sound right...
I think I just had a great idea.
Instead of a debate -- let's put the candidates through an assessment center. Give a situation or problem. Show how they'd handle it, but they've got to stay within the "rules." Namely -- they have to stay within the powers and authority available to them as President. No "I'll do this (assuming Congress passes the laws to let me)." Let some decent political researchers and commentators critique them -- pick commentators from both ends and the middle of the political spectrum.
I supported Mitt before. I'm starting to like him now. Very obvious who has real business experience tonight.
Sad what passes for a debate these days.
True, but they were still trading prepared remarks back and forth. Both were given target rich environments - imagine Nixon tearing into Obama, imagine Romney trying to fend off Kennedy. These stiffs just stood there and repeated the things they were coached to say over and over. One was coached better, so I should vote for his speech aid? There was no on the fly thinking, not even an amusing zinger.
Being a domestic policy debate you'd think something other than taxation and Bananarama, er, ObaRomney Care would come up. No, the rest of the Constitution is just fine and hasn't been affected for so long it's not worth talking about.
