Legalization of recreational marijuana in Washington and Colorado leads Mexico to reconsider its anti-drug policies
Mexico says marijuana legalization in U.S. could change anti-drug strategies - The Washington Post“The legalization of marijuana forces us to think very hard about our strategy to combat criminal organizations, mainly because the largest consumer in the world has liberalized its laws,” said Manlio Fabio Beltrones, leader of Peña Nieto’s party in Mexico’s Congress.Peña Nieto’s top adviser, Luis Vidagaray, said Thursday that his boss did not believe that legalization was the answer. But Vidagaray said Mexico’s drug strategies must be reviewed in light of the legalization votes.“Obviously we can’t handle a product that is illegal in Mexico, trying to stop its transfer to the United States, when in the United States, at least in part of the United States, it now has a different status,” Videgaray told a radio station Wednesday.“I think more and more Mexicans will respond in a similar fashion, as we ask ourselves why are Mexican troops up in the mountains of Sinaloa and Guerrero and Durango looking for marijuana, and why are we searching for tunnels, patrolling the borders, when once this product reaches Colorado it becomes legal,” said Jorge Castaneda, former foreign minister in Mexico and an advocate for what he calls an end to this “absurd war.”

There's lots of stuff that's legal in one place, but not legal in another. And it's still illegal to import into the US.“Obviously we can’t handle a product that is illegal in Mexico, trying to stop its transfer to the United States, when in the United States, at least in part of the United States, it now has a different status,”Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

We could end that war in twenty minutes, if we had the will.
Legalizing marijuana in Washington has very little to do with Mexico. We get our meth from there, but most of our pot is grown here or in BC.I'm your huckleberry...

But, but, but....I thought most people grow their own here in CO? I mean the law says we can have 6 plants right? And it's going to be sold in stores, so it will put drug dealers out of business right? Right? Plus, we're going to have 20 million in taxes a year go towards our schools, right? Even though people are allowed to grow all they want nearly for free, other than the cost of a grow light and some water, they're still going to buy the overtaxed stuff in stores right, rather than the homegrown stuff, or the cheaper non-taxed better stuff sold by the illegal dealers, right? Right? But that's what the ads said! You know...those ads that were funded by lobbyists groups based OUTSIDE of Colorado. They had our best interests at heart right? Right...?
Oy.

Attorney brings Cheetos and Goldfish to Governor's Office | 9news.com
This smarmy lawyer (a medical marijuana specialist defense attorney) is going to lose all kinds of business, so I don't give a crap if he celebrates now. I take comfort in the fact that last year, I faced him on the stand while his client was accused of trafficking marijuana when I popped him with about a pound in his car all seperated out. He tried all of his fancy lawyer flashdancing, trying to bait me into defining medical marijuana as chemically different than non-medical MJ, etc. In the end, his stupid, arrogant ass lost the case for his client, because he appeared stupid and arrogant to the jurors. That guy's serving a nickel in DOC.
Maybe he can bring him some Cheetos and Goldfish in Canon City.
