Police would be immigration agents if GOP proposal wins Congressional approvalA Republican proposal to deputize local police as immigration agents would improve public safety, law enforcement officials said Thursday. But Democrats said it would reopen the fractious debate over whether states can be trusted to investigate a person's citizenship status without engaging in racial profiling. Those contrasting opinions were the focus of a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday about the Strengthen and Fortify Enforcement Act sponsored by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina.

Sounds like a god idea to me. If they go rid of the illegals the crime in my old area would have dropped by about half.'Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a
delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly
promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which
holds forth the proposition that it is entirely
possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!'

I haven't read the articles; how is this different from the 257g program?Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

About`1978-79 after picking up and booking 4 illegals for trespass in a railway yard and "hold for INS", I got a call from some bozo who claimed he was a supervisory agent for INS "back east". I was threatened with a criminal charge for violating their 'civil rights' I guess several of us 'locals' cops got chewed on by this bureaucrat, or his clone. I just hung up on this Adam-Henry, others gave more colorful replies.
Joe Wambaugh wrote of the early days of the "Carter border" in his book "Lines and Shadows"
That was my first experience with Jimmy Carter's Legacy, the wide open border. My last official contact as an LEO dealing with the upside-down border administration was my attempt to get some background info on a dangerous suspect that moved here and often made trips back to Mexico. We suspected he was an enforcer for the Sinaloan Cowboys. Our local INS Spl.Agent sent my request up his chain and we were turned down because of suspect "privacy" concerns (Bill Clinton was in office then). Using a back channel got the info needed to determine suspect was dangerous (he reached for a hidden gun in his couch when he was arrested) The Obama regime has shown worse than incompetent and has gone over to the dark side for deliberately unsecuring our borders.

Old People, like me, may not be around to witness the destruction of our Nation. The rest of you may not survive the collapse. We all have the sworn duty to prevent it.
