Like many other negotia- tions playing out elsewhere, the deal will increase the top salaries for various positions by three percent a year over three years. That brings the maximum pay scale to about to about $89,000, according to Or- egonLive.com. Portland officers also get guaranteed annual cost-of- living increases as well. But the raises are offset by several concessions made at the bargaining table. The Portland Police Offi- cers Association has agreed to drop nearly a dozen labor complaints against the city as well as giving up the 48- hour rule. OregonLive.com point- ed out that specifics about whether body cameras will be implemented and how use-of-force investigations might change from current practices are still unavail- able. Contract Captain Mike Campagna, right, talks with a fellow police officer outside of Bank of America Stadium before an NFL football game between the Charlotte Panthers and the Minnesota Vikings in Charlotte, North Carolina. Protests have disrupted the city following the shooting of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott at an apartment complex near UNC Charlotte.
