But that’s precisely the reason that 37-year-old sin- gle father James Meyers was arrested after being stopped for a broken tail light. It took about 25 minutes for the officer to find out Meyers had a warrant. “I don’t know how to tell you this but there’s a warrant out for your arrest from 2002. Apparently you rented the movie Freddy Got Fingered, and never returned it,” Meyers said the cop told him. “I thought he was joking,” Meyers told reporters. It wasn’t a joke though. Meyers was formally charged in Concord, North Carolina with the misde- meanor of failure to return rental property from a fam- ily-owned video store that closed back who knows when. He said the cops seemed to understand the nature of his offense and acted accordingly. They let him take his daughter to school and he even got to show up to work so long as he promised to turn himself into the police department later the same day. At the department, officers arrested him and took him Thanks to big data and automation, the computer, not the officer, now has discretion to the magistrate’s office. “For the first time I got put in handcuffs,” said Meyers. Tom Green, the comedian that made the movie critics consider to be one the worst films in human history took to Twitter to express his dis- belief. To some observers, it seems like the basic job de- scription of “police officer” is changing rapidly. It’s hard to imagine any- one signed up to chase down copies of delinquent VHS tapes rented by stores that have gone out of business. If you’ve never seen “Freddy Got Fingered,” you’re hardly missing out. It’s one of the worst movies ever made. But sometimes when a movie is this bad it can actually be good. But it’s only good because it’s so amazingly bad. You know how the French go bananas for Jerry Lewis and others don’t know why? It’s the same with Tom Green and most comics. • Removes weight of duty belt off hips and lower back • Enables you to perform at maximum standards • Helps keep shirt tucked in during physical activity • No need to adjust duty belt when exiting vehicle • No need to hold duty belt when engaging in foot pursuits No more back pain The Back Defender is the only concealed belt suspension system approved for police duty WWW"ACK$EFENSE3YSTEMSCOM (or) Peerless® Handcuff Company Only 5.2 ounces • NIJ Certified • Made in USA www.peerless.net • info@peerless.net • 800.732.3715
