Twenty gov- ernmental entities including judicial, corrections, law enforcement, the district at- torney, the public defender and faith-based groups all work together. The program is supported by small grants and local businesses. The CART Acad- emy staff is made up of sworn peace officers from Colton, San Bernardino, San Ber- nardino School Police, and a Colton Fireman/paramedic. All staff are certified through the POST certi- fied after-school program – the “Juvenile Intervention Instructors Course (JIIC)” which is run by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. CART staff specialize in Getting kids on path to success dealing with juvenile delin- quency and are dedicated to helping youngsters make the right choices. Rich Randolph is an officer with the Colton Police Dept. He can be reached at the City of Colton P.D. by calling 909.370.5000 or emailing: rrandolph@ci.colton.ca.us. At-risk youth get a chance to change their very futures The truth is that most kids would rather be doing push ups, learning new skills and going on hikes with mentors like police officers than getting into trouble. Sadly, there very few opportunities for them to do so. The CART Academy is a welcome exception. The CART Academy staff is dedicated to helping kids who are in need of positive, adult role models. 5H[PVUHS:OLYPɈZ»(ZZVJPH[PVU Domestic Violence Training Law Enforcement Training: Domestic Violence Intervention and Investigation 6]LY[OLJV\YZLVMKH`ZSLHYU! ࠮ PU]LZ[PNH[PVUHUKPU[LY]PL^PUN ࠮ WYVZLJ\[PUNKVTLZ[PJ]PVSLUJLJHZLZ ࠮ ZVS\[PVUZHUKYLZV\YJLKL]LSVWTLU[ ࠮ HUKTVYL Domestic Violence Training for Communications Professionals +\YPUN[OPZVULHUKHOHSMKH`JV\YZLSLHYU! ࠮ [VNH[OLYJYP[PJHSPUMVYTH[PVU ࠮ Z[YH[LNPJPU[LY]PL^PUN ࠮ ZVS\[PVUZHUKYLZV\YJLKL]LSVWTLU[ ࠮ HUKTVYL ;YHPUPUNZJHUILOVZ[LKI`HU`HNLUJ`(TPUPT\TVMH[[LUKLLZPZYLX\PYLK[VOVSK[OL[YHPUPUN MVYHJVZ[VMVUS` WLYWLYZVU(ÅH[MLLVM PZJOHYNLKMVYJSHZZLZVMSLZZ[OHU WWW.SHERIFFS.ORG/DVTRAINING
