As part of our unrelent- ing focus on that mission, I am thrilled to announce that we have a new website – www.sheriffs.org. The site was built by Blue Water Media, and is sure to make your visits more rewarding, productive and helpful. Last year, we had more than 133,000 visitors to our website. So far in 2016, more than 70,000 people have come to see what’s going on at the NSA. The revamped website is an all-inclusive resource center with everything from online training to the latest news of importance to the law enforcement profession. Visitors can view the NSA’s complete line-up of training and certification courses at the new Global Center for Public Safety. Our nation’s sheriffs and their deputies are focused on keeping the country and our communities safe. And our goal at the NSA is to constantly look for new and better ways to help them do their jobs. We hope this new website is another step in that direc- tion. And if you have any thoughts on how this site can serve you better, we want to hear from you. New and improved “My grandson Maverick and I spent the day together at our 4th of July Festival. I was with the San Jose Police Department for 30 years and have been the chief of police for the Liv- ingston Police Department for over four years. I enjoyed motors in San Jose PD. I am also a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy class 232! Livingston Police Department has 20 sworn and 10 civilian staff and serves a very diverse community of 15,000. Our claim to fame is we are the Sweet Potato capital. We have a sweet potato field and tractor pictured on our patch.” – Submitted by Chief Ruben Chavez, Livingston P.D., in California. Calling all readers, subscribers... One of the things that makes American Police Beat different is the fact that our pages are filled with professional photos of real police officers as well as the photos sent in that cops take themselves. These photos are one of the reasons American Police Beat is so widely read and enjoyed by law enforcement professionals around the world. If you have a high-resolution photo of a partner, a boss or just cops hanging out or on patrol, feel free to email it to us at info@apbweb.com. Again – we could never do what we do without help from our readers.
