No custodial coitus

In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has proposed legislation that would prohibit police officers from having sexual contact with someone in their custody.

Shockingly, it is currently legal for cops to have sex with people in their custody in 35 states.

“This bill would amend state law to ensure that incidents of sexual contact between a police officer and someone under arrest, temporarily detained, or otherwise subject to law enforcement activity would also be prohibited under the penal code,” according to a sponsor’s memo attached to the Assembly bill.

The changes to the law were inspired by a case in Brooklyn where an 18-year-old woman accused two police officers of raping her in a police van.

The police officers have alleged that the sex was consensual.

In a related story, Michigan recently passed legislation making it illegal for police officers to have sex with prostitutes during undercover investigations.
