Tough Choice


Unless you’re in politics, you’d probably agree that the nation’s roads and bridges are long overdue for repair.

Sure, we haven’t seen a bridge fall into a river recently, but even if we did, we might not think it’s a big deal, due to lack of a terrorist angle for the media to play.

In Washington State’s Franklin County, local officials have decided that money earmarked for road repairs is needed instead to pay for police positions.

Needless to say. other county agencies are a little jealous, but we’re talking small potatoes here.

The total amount in play is about $650,000.
