If you ask someone what they think of police, you’ll typically get a very generalized answer.
Depending on who you’re talking to, you might here that cops are overpaid thugs that got into police work to hurt people.
On the other side of the spectrum, you’ll find people that think cops can do no wrong whatsoever.
But once you get away from the generalities, the truth emerges.
Cops are human beings.
In Seattle, it’s not uncommon for cops to into their own pockets to help out the people they come into contact with through the course of their work.
“To do this job, you have to care at some point about your fellow man,” Ron Smith, President of the Seattle Police Officers Guild told reporters recently. “The problem we have with a lot of these folks committing crimes is that they are addicted to drugs. You can arrest your way out of the problem or you can be part of the solution, and in that instance I’m sure (Bach) decided to be part of the solution.”
