Hate crimes have a devastating impact on the communities where they occur, and while the latest statistics from the FBI show they’re on the decline, there’s still a long way to go to eradicating them. Helping lead the battle charge is Seattle PD Officer Jim Ritter, who is the mastermind behind an upcoming Hate Crimes Conference in Seattle from April 27-28.
This training is designed to educate members of the criminal justice community as to the current state of hate crimes within the Pacific Northwest and Nation and how to properly identify, legislate, investigate and prosecute hate crimes. This training will also give instruction on collaborating with the communities impacted by these incidents and to assist repairing the societal damage caused by these acts.
