Usually when people get help from police officers they don’t take the time to write a letter to the editor about the experience. But there are still some folks that believe good deeds are worthy of public praise. The following letter to the editor was printed recently by the New Orleans Advocate newspaper.
People in many countries actually fear the police and law enforcement on sight. Here in America and Louisiana, the sight of a uniformed police or law enforcement officer is a welcome sight and means immediate help to an individual citizen.
When I encountered a road hazard-size pothole near the Essen and Perkins intersection, which immediately destroyed a tire, I had no sooner pulled into the Baton Rouge Clinic parking lot when two Baton Rouge police units pulled in and changed my tire.
