There’s a lot that happens in law enforcement today that didn’t happen in the old days.
Some examples might be police and the public antagonizing each other on social media, cops paying out of pocket for their own training and local law enforcement working with intelligence agencies like the CIA.
However, some stuff that’s always gone on still goes on.
The difference today is that the commercial surveillance state makes all the photos people used to share privately public.
From time to time, cops get into trouble for taking “trophy photos” after they make arrests.
From the officers’ perspective, it probably seems like a harmless way to celebrate a hard day’s work.
To others, photos like this one raise all sorts of disturbing questions.
