Three lucky dogs are back safe with their owner after two Manvel, Texas, Police Department officers saved them from drowning in a local pond on November 4.
Upon arriving at the scene around 6 a.m., Sergeant Peters and Officer Garcia found the dogs struggling to get out of the water because the pond was lined with a bulkhead, a retaining wall along the water’s edge.
Bodycam video shows the officers snatching the three dogs out of the water and bringing them to safety. “Hey, come here, it’s OK, come here,” one of the officers can be heard saying in the clip, which has been viewed more than 165,000 times on Facebook. “The dogs, who appeared tired and frightened, were brought back to dry land and given immediate care,” the department said on Facebook. “The dogs are now safe and sound with their owner. We want to make sure everyone keeps an eye out on their animals as this pond has a bulkhead and not a bank.”
