An Oklahoma City police officer was faced with a rather comical situation after a woman, her son and her dog got locked in their chicken coup.
The Oklahoma City Police Department received a call from a concerned neighbor that a woman, her young boy, and her dog were trapped in a chicken coup. According to the son, his mom was “going crazy” after a gust of wind shut the door to the chicken coup which locks from the outside.
The neighbor, who had trouble opening the door, said the mom requested help from a police officer. That’s when the neighbor called 911 and the hero of the story, Officer Criswell, arrived on the scene.
It’s not specified how Criswell managed to open the coup, but he did, and all was fine with the family aside from the mother’s spell of anxiety.
Apparently, the young boy, who Criswell appointed as a “junior officer,” was having a good time playing with the chickens and ducks throughout the ordeal. He gave Criswell a hand-written note saying, “My momma was just about going crazy…I was just having fun with the ducks and the chickens, so I was fine.”
The thank-you-note, which was posted by the police department on Facebook, concluded with the message, “Thank you for all the small and big things you do for our community.”
