In December, law enforcement agencies nationwide hosted Shop With a Cop events, a beloved tradition that pairs police officers and other first responders with children from their communities for holiday shopping trips at local department stores. Together, they picked out toys, offered fashion advice and helped select gifts for the kids’ loved ones. They also decked some halls, shared sweet treats and enjoyed fun activities with their shopping buddies.

The philanthropic initiative seeks to give underprivileged children (and those young at heart) the opportunity to experience the joy of the season while building positive connections with the individuals dedicated to protecting and serving their communities.

Here are a few fun snapshots of Shop With a Cop events shared on social media by agencies across the country.

As seen in the January 2026 issue of American Police Beat magazine.
