Traffic enforcement: What’s your purpose?
October 23, 2024
At National Police Week on May 14th and 16th, children, step-children and siblings who have lost a parent or sibling to a line-of-duty death can participate in special activities. Children and Siblings of the fallen officer must be pre-registered to attend these programs. There is no on-site registration. Once registered, parents/guardians of the attendee will receive detailed information on the program.
Surviving children, step-children and siblings in Kindergarten-12th Grade may attend the C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens Program. This program will give attendees the opportunity to attend grief counseling sessions designed for their needs, as well as age-appropriate fun and social activities. This program is held off-site at local law enforcement academies. Lunch will be provided for attendees on both the 14th and 16th. Additional information for the C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens activities will be sent to the parent/guardian along with a request for additional paperwork on each child. Children must be pre-registered and must attend the C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens Program.
