Registration is now open for the 2025 Public Safety Symposium: Building Safer and Stronger Communities, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 16 through Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, New York.

This premier statewide event annually convenes more than 1,000 professionals from across the public safety field to learn from experts, respected practitioners, and one another. Whether you’re working on the front lines or behind the scenes, in prevention, enforcement, advocacy or analysis, this Symposium offers insights and connections for everyone committed to building a safer, stronger New York.

Attendees explore innovative programs and initiatives that:

  • reduce, prevent and solve crime;
  • expand opportunity and engage communities;
  • improve the wellbeing of law enforcement personnel and advance the profession; and
  • promote a justice system that works for all New Yorkers.

Highlights include:

  • Three full days of programming with more than 100 presentations across a wide range of topics
  • New Thursday tracks focused on Leadership and Domestic Violence Intervention Initiatives
  • Keynote speakers who are leaders and changemakers in public safety, including:
    • Hon. Rowan D. Wilson, Chief Judge of New York State
    • John J. Choi, County Attorney, Ramsey County (MN)
    • Professor Lawrence Sherman, University of Cambridge
    • Terri Tobin, Ph.D. NYPD Chief of Interagency Operations (ret.)
