University of San Diego Announces Partnership with FBI National Academy Associates

Published April 18, 2018 @ 12:00 am PDT

USD Law Enforcement Master’s Degree Program Now a Gold Level Academic Ally with FBINAA; Allows Up to 12 Units of Transfer Credit

FBI National AcademyUniversity of San Diego, home to one of the nation’s top online law enforcement administration master’s degree programs, has announced a new partnership with the FBI National Academy Associates.

The USD law enforcement master’s program is now a Gold Level academic ally with the FBINAA, a nonprofit law enforcement training and advocacy organization that describes itself as “the world’s strongest law enforcement leadership network.” The 17,000-member FBINAA is open to all graduates of the FBI National Academy Program.

Founded in 1935, the FBI National Academy is a 10-week leadership course in which law enforcement professionals receive advanced training in terrorism, intelligence theory, forensic science, behavioral science, management science, communication and more at the FBI campus in Quantico, Virginia.

“I am very pleased USD has chosen to partner with the FBI National Academy Associates,” said retired police chief James R. Davis, a graduate of the 183rd session of the FBI National Academy and a current student in USD’s online M.S. in Law Enforcement leadership program.

“USD’s commitment to bringing a superior quality, accessible and affordable program to our profession aligns perfectly with the FBI National Academy Associates’ mission and vision of promoting leadership, networking and continuous development,” said Davis. “As a lifelong learner, I am proud to be a part of two exceptional programs working to advance the level of education and leadership in our honorable profession.”

Recently ranked one of the nation’s top online law enforcement administration master’s degree programs, the USD program engages each student on a broad spectrum of topics that includes organizational leadership, conflict resolution and decision making, budget and finance, public safety law, communication and community engagement. FBINA graduates can receive up to 12 units of transfer credit for graduate level coursework completed as part of their training, as well as a discount on tuition.

USD’s M.S. in Law Enforcement Leadership is taught by a faculty of experienced law enforcement, criminal justice and military professionals — utilizing a highly interactive online format that is ideal for working law enforcement professionals because it offers flexibility to balance each student’s academic schedule around the demands of their law enforcement duties and family life. The degree can be completed in 20 months.

About the Master’s Degree in Law Enforcement Leadership

Developed in collaboration with law enforcement associations, USD’s M.S. in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership online degree program goes far beyond a traditional criminal justice education by focusing on contemporary issues and refining the skills needed to address today’s law enforcement challenges.
