A special assignment -Three departments join to deliver Easter gifts

“A special assignment” — State troopers from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut join together to surprise girl who lost both parents with Easter gifts

APB Team Published April 16, 2021 @ 10:00 am PDT

Connecticut State Police

State troopers from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut coordinated their efforts to deliver Easter gifts to a girl who tragically lost her parents in two separate accidents.

New Hampshire state troopers first met Eyvie after she lost her parents and wanted to do something special for her this Easter. Although they were not able to present the gifts themselves, they coordinated with troopers from Massachusetts and Connecticut units to help deliver the gifts.

A Facebook post from Connecticut State police said, “New Hampshire State Troopers met Eyvie a few months ago when she tragically lost both of her parents in separate incidents. The New Hampshire State Police weren’t able to make the trip to Connecticut, but they wanted to make sure a few special presents made their way to their friend Eyvie.”

The Facebook post also included a thanks to their state police neighbors, and mentioned help with the delivery from partners at the Public Information Office and the Connecticut D.A.R.E Program.

“We are honored to have been given the opportunity to take part and meet Eyvie. She is an amazingly strong and resilient girl and we were honored she shared her bright smile with us this morning!” the post said.

The video included in the post clearly shows how happy Eyvie was to receive the gifts, smiling excitedly as she opened each one. It was definitely a worthwhile endeavor.
