Several law enforcement agencies across the country participated in annual National Night Out celebrations on August 6. This community-building campaign, typically held on the first Tuesday in August, promotes positive police–citizen partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, drawing millions of residents in thousands of cities each year to meet with their local police officers, firefighters and other first responders to learn about public safety initiatives, engage in recreational activities and have fun.

Here are scenes from National Night Out events that were shared on social media by agencies around the country.

As seen in the September 2024 issue of American Police Beat magazine.
