The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF)on March 4 announced Officers Adrian Woolford, Chrystian Banuelos and Jonathan Bombardier of the Pasadena, California, Police Department as their Officers of the Month for January 2025. These officers were recognized for their bravery and determination in ensuring the safety of residents during the Eaton fires by going door to door — including at a nursing home — to locate and evacuate individuals surrounded by active fires.
On January 7, Officer Woolford was informed by a firefighter that a woman was trapped in her home during the Eaton fires. Disregarding significant personal risk, he ran toward the fire and was joined by Officers Banuelos and Bombardier. Together, the officers conducted door-to-door searches, forcibly entering a residence when necessary to ensure no individuals were trapped inside. They successfully assisted multiple residents in reaching safety.
“The heroic actions of Officers Woolford, Banuelos and Bombardier exemplify the selfless courage and unwavering commitment that define true heroes in law enforcement,” NLEOMF CEO William Alexander said. “Their determination to protect those at risk, even in the face of extreme danger, showcases the best of what law enforcement stands for. We are honored to recognize them as Officers of the Month for January 2025.”
The Officer of the Month Award Program is sponsored by the Police Unity Tour and recognizes federal, state and local officers who distinguish themselves through exemplary law enforcement service and devotion to duty.
