Safariland Group Appoints New COO

APB Team Published April 1, 2017 @ 3:06 pm PDT

The Safariland Group has appointed Brad E. Williams as its chief operating officer.

The Safariland Group—a leading global provider of safety and survivability products designed for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets—today announced it has named Brad E. Williams to the newly created role of chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Williams, who brings nearly 20 years of senior leadership and management experience in the technology and engineered products industries to Safariland, will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s operations and driving continued innovation across its portfolio of brands and product offerings. He will report to Scott O’Brien, president of Safariland.

Williams most recently served as president of the Material Processing Technologies Group at IDEX Corporation, where he was responsible for managing four business units across Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. Prior to IDEX, he spent four years at Danaher Corporation where he held functional leadership and general management roles of increasing responsibility. Williams began his career at Ingersoll-Rand Company, where he held positions across manufacturing, customer service, marketing and aftermarket.

“Brad brings a wealth of operational and leadership experience to Safariland, and I am excited to welcome him to our team,” said O’Brien. “He has a proven track record of growing businesses, improving performance, leading portfolio expansion through innovation and enhancing customer experience. We are confident that he is the right leader to drive improved quality and efficiency across our operations, and his expertise in technology and engineered products will benefit Safariland as we enter our next phase of growth.”

“I am delighted to join the accomplished team at Safariland at this exciting time for the Company,” said Williams. “I look forward to working with the management team as we focus on continued innovation, expanding our best-in-class portfolio of safety and survivability products and enhancing the teams, capabilities and systems that make Safariland the industry-leading provider for public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets.”

Williams holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
